LEAGUES
The Tennis club regularly enters teams in the Avon Junior Summer and Winter Leagues in the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 age groups. In recent years the teams have performed very well - the Under 12s were unbeaten in their division for three seasons. The club tries to give every child whose play is of a suitable standard, a chance to represent the Club if they wish to do so. Anyone interested in playing for one of the leagues should contact Ron.

Junior League Reports (Wed 15th Novemevr 2006)
Both the under-12 and under-14 teams at Bishop Sutton have enjoyed a hugely successful season in 2006. The under-12s are in the 1st division of the Avon Junior Summer League for their age group and finished the season on top without losing a match! This is a great achievement and congratulations are due to the whole squad: James Egginton, Dan Gordon, Joe Gough, Alistair Heron, Tom Hunt, Nick Matthews, Harry McDonald, Oliver Vipond, Charlotte Wareham and Joe Webb. Our thanks also to Debbie Gordon for managing the squad. The under-14s are also in Division 1 for their age group and they too came top in convincing form. The successful squad of James Cox, Will Gough, Nathan Hawkins, Chris Nelson, Tom Pate and Ben Warren was managed by Brian Pate. Both teams were presented with their winners' shields at the Avon LTA Junior presentation evening. With younger age groups and mini tennis flourishing too, the development of Junior players at Bishop Sutton is going from strength to strength. Becci Scott

Junior League Reports (Sat 11th March 2006)
The Under 14 Junior League Team won the play-off for 2nd place in Div 1 of the avon Junior Winter League defeating St George 56-22.
Mini Tennis The Club also enters the Mini Tennis League, run by BANES tennis Development group, which is generally held between March and July. There are two competitions: Red Mini Tennis, where children can enter competitions using the movement and hitting skills they have acquired, on a smaller sized court. Orange Mini Tennis, where they will use their rallying and serving skills, on a three quarter sized court.

MATCHPLAY
A junior tournament is held each year, culminating in a Finals Day in conjunction with the Senior players - there are four categories:- Girls Singles, Boys singles, Girls Doubles and Boys Doubles. The winners are each presented with a shield as a keepsake and a cup, which is only held for a year and then returned for the next Finals Day winners.

Road to Wimbledon A competition organised by the LTA and run by Ron Grew, with a chance to progress to the National rounds, with the winner having the wonderful opportunity of playing and being coached at Wimbledon. Ladder Competition An inter-club knockout competition to encourage match playing for the junior players.

Box League
Currently we have 11 boxes operating with 4 to 5 players in each box. This is another opportunity to get match practice. The box league is sponsored by Deanes Sports of Cheddar in the form of trophies for each box winner. Anyone interested in joining the boxes please contact Ron Grew.

Sportmanship Award 2005-2006
This year the award was won by Scarlett Potticary and her trophy was presented at the Christmas party.

SOCIAL
Every year the Club holds a Summer Family BBQ , where parents and children play together in 'mixed generation' tennis. A Christmas party is held the week before Christmas with games, prizes, forfeits, and fancy dress.

CHILD PROTECTION OFFICERS Anyone with any concerns can approach our two Club Officers Sylv and Fleur Wilcox who have both attended Child Protection Courses.
